Sharpmaker Stones (brown)

Are they really brown? my sm is beat been using it for 7 years now and im down to 2 fine and a gray medium one gray split. im planning on buying a new kit with ultra fines and diamonds but ive seen "brown" advertised but i didnt know if they considered the gray ones brown... doesnt make any sense but i believe the brown says medium. so what are the gray?

Well, the new ones (I bought my sharpmaker about half a year ago) come with a set of Brown "medium" stones and white "fine" stones. I'm not sure as to what grey ones you're referring to.

Mine came with gray stones. They are a darker gray. Hm. Maybe they changed the color?

Brown, gray, I guess it all depends on how color blind you are though they look brown to me.

All the ones I've ever seen were a darkish brown color. The old round Crock Stick's in medium were gray.

Mine are brown, Sharpmaker is about two years old.

I've had a SharpMaker since the early 90's, and the medium stones were/are dark brown. Maybe yours just need cleaning?

My 204 sharpmaker is four years old, my medium stones are brown. But I heard many times reference to them as gray

Mine are brown and I've also seen them refered to as grey.
