When using the UF stone should you use normal sharpening pressure or very light strokes only when using these? I've heard conflicting posts.

The purpose of the UF stones is to put on the final edge. I would recommend a very light touch. You don't want to undo all your good work up to that point.

I recommend light pressure, only using the flats. When you use the corners of the rods it applies a lot of pressure on a tiny piece of edge, and it makes it easier to raise a micro burr. In fact, I only use the flats if I use the Sharpmaker these days due to not wanting to raise a burr (I generally use benchstones, including all grits of Spyderco ceramics). The only time I use the corners is on SE knives or hawkbills.

Gentle pressure for sure if you're finishing the edge prior to stropping. I've used the UF stone to raise a burr before . It's okay to do that if that's what you want to do.
