Just curious when did Sal first introduce the Sharpmaker?

We introduced the "201" Sharpmaker at the Texas state fair in October of 1978.

I think those 2 previous Sharpmaker models were sold in nylon or cordura wrapping sheaths. I seem to remember one of the really old ones on Ebay a couple of years ago and that's how it was packaged. The 302 stones and the 701 Profiles were also out there for a long time>> well as long as I've been a Spyderhead anyway.
One of their best sharpening tools in my opinion for bigger knives is the Galley V system and you don't see those very often at all. I'm glad I stocked up on stones for that one.
