What is this "sharpmaker" I keep seeing on all the threads? It seems a lot of you guys use this for your blades.

It's a Spyderco product. Two medium stones and two fine stones (all ceramic). They offer two choices of angles and provide a hand guard. The kit can be carried in the field, though it might weigh more than you want to carry. For more steeped angles, you can place something under each side and swap it. Cleaning requires a Brillo Pad and some Comet.

It works well :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

(Except when you want to change the major bevel)

Sharpmaker was the tool that finally taught me how to but a really good edge on a blade in a very short amount of time- highly recommended.

I'm a sharpening retard and even I can get a razor's edge on anything. It even worked on my axe and a pair of scissors

I finally handled one today.. I was kind of suprised to see that it is plastic.. Ive seen a million pics, but I just guessed I just never noticed.. Those of you that have been using these for a while, have the rods loosened up at all?? Thats the issue w/ my last crock stick setup..
