I have a "tri hone" wet stone sharpener I for the life of me I can't get that shit to work well at all! Mabye I'm doing it wrong. Does any one have any advice

Tri-Hone sharpeners are fully capable of putting a razor's edge on just about any steel, granted the super hard steels will take a lot longer than the softer ones. My guess is your technique is the problem. There are good sharpening tutorials all over the internet. Without going into a lot of detail, you have to ensure you're removing metal all the way to the very edge. Sharpie markers work well to help you see if you're getting the edge or not. Just color the edge with the marker, and when you remove the mark all the way to the edge, you're there. Then you have to raise a burr. Then you switch to the other side and do the same thing. Tutorials will explain it a lot better than me. Do a google search. IIRC, Knifecenter.com has a sharpening section that has a good tutorial. I think that's the one I read a few years ago when I was honing my skills.
