Hey guys. Saw a post in the Bark River Forums over on KF about a new necker Bark River is putting out. Sharpshooter designed an very unique optional leather sheath for it that works as a neck sheath or on the belt. It has a thumb activated release and it also holds a firesteel.

The cool thing about this sheath is that it fits the RAT Izula as well! Hopefully I can scrounge up enough change to get one of these and give it a try. I'm going to send Reid a message and see if he can send me a pic with an Izula in the sheath.

Looks very nice. can't wait for pics, always helps to make the decision to buy easier when you can see what it looks like.

I'll have some good pics with my IZULA in the next week or so.

I am very excited about this sheath!

Good thing I just bought an Izula :D

How about the sheath fitting an RC3? Or is there a similarly built sheath that will do this?

KnivesShipFree sells Sharpshooter leather sheaths for the RC-3. They are similar in that they are the same quality but they are designed as belt sheaths and have a snap over retention strap. I've got one for my RC-4 and love it.

I don't have pictures of them with an Izula yet, but it is this sheath

It fits either the Bravo Neck Knife or the IZULA without any modification. When I saw the Bravo design, I worked with the sheath maker to make sure it would fit both.

It is a great design. I don't have one of the production ones in my hand yet. I only have the prototype. The production ones will be here the end of the week.

Thanks smcclown, but actually what I meant to ask about is a horizontal sheath for the RC3. On first glance, this is what I thought I was looking at with the Izula sheath. It seemed similar to the Sharpshooter horizontal sheath for the Bravo 1. On closer inspection of the picture, given the orientation of the belt loop, it must be a vertical carry.

Even so, the design looks nice and I'd still be interested in seeing one for a RC3.

Gander,

The normal RC-3 sheath will fit a large Teklok either vertically or horizontally. I use one to carry my RC-3 horizontally and it works great. If you are looking for a leather horizontal sheath, get in touch with Rainwalker. I had him make up a leather sheath for my Bravo-1 and the 'X' loops he uses allow you to carry either horizontally or vertically. He does outstanding work. Here's a link to his site... http://rainwalker15.googlepages.com/index.html :thumbup::thumbup:

I've just seen the color range the Barkie neck knife comes in ...

they got orange and red ...

well I do like the overall design of the Izula better, but still ... orange and red ...

What a nice looking sheath for an EDC. I might just have to get one.

Love the look of their sheaths - very cool. I love the Izula stock sheath though, perfect size for horizontal belt carry for me :)

Bad thing about leather sheaths is that they're fairly chunky, which doesn't help when I'm trying to maximise the pocket space efficiency. And it looks kinda weird too.
