not exactly a knife, but it is a review. :D (moderators, if this belongs in a better place feel free to move it)

got this from David Sharp at the brea custom knife show yesterday. nice little tool. very compact and combines a good amount of capability in a small package.

the Prybuddy is made from O1 and is heat treated to 57HRC (if i heard David correctly, it was kind of loud in the show)

the only markings on the tool is his company name, Sharpwerks.

the bottle opener works quite well, it doesnt slip off the bottle like other bottle openers, and the body of the tool gives you a good amount of leverage. (as you can see, the split ring hole is also a hex wrench)

it prys fairly well for a small tool. as with the bottle opener, the body of the tool gives you good leverage in use.

the edges are rounded nicely, with the exception of a squared off portion that is intended to be a firesteel striker. (which works pretty well, no pictures though since i only have so many hands :D)

all in all i think this is a great tool. it adds that extra bit of capability to your EDC, saves your knife tips from prying, and can open a cold one at the end of a long day. i think the reason i prefer this to my old keychain tool (gerber shard) is that it is slimmer and more streamlined. its also made in the USA, California to boot. :D

thanks for looking!

Thanks for the write-up/review. I do need to make one correction; they are made of O1 at roughly 57.

I have been interested in one of these tools for a while. I would like to carry a pry bar in my car bag with the first aid kit, fire extinguisher, tools, etc. Can you get enough leverage on the Prybuddy tool for it to be useful enough?

i can get fairly good leverage on it. will it pry open a door? no, will it handle smaller EDC prying jobs? i think so.

I'm not sure. If I remember correctly he said he would be making a new model. Probably best to contact him and find out for sure.
