Here is a special piece from Blade I was asked to share. If you did not have the pleasure of seeing this on at the show you missed a beauty. A very unique new creation from this awesome making duo!

As described by the maker's:

The large Persian fixed blade knife, 21 inches overall length, fully engraved with 24 ct. Gold inlay, Turkish damascus, guilded white pearl, with mechanical latches to hold the small double action credit card automatic. The small automatic is 3 3/4 inches long, 1095 and 203e Damascus blade, 416 stainless steel frames with deeply carved guards, white pearl inlay, 24 ct. Gold inlay, fully engraved and can be removed from either side of the larger knife.
The all stainless steel sheath has fully pierced and carved stainless steel wrapped caps on both ends, 24ct. Gold inlay with victorian style engraving.
Made in 2011.

Very special knife, deserving of a larger photo. Some unique features to be found on this package:cool:

Well now, that's several different kinds of spectacular. I can't say I've ever seen that paticular execution of the small knife concealed within a big knife concept. Outstanding work!

I have never heard of such a knife as this.
I can't think of what to say other than I would expect to see this in a museum with an armed guard watching over it.
"Spectacular" doesn't even begin to describe this duo.

Not my cup of tea, however certainly respect and appreciate the tremendous skill and imagination that went into this substantial
project.

Spectacular! It's not a knife that I would buy, but man is it nice!

Kind regards,

Jos

We all have our favorite makers, but when I go to Blade, I always come up with my own pick of what I consider to be the top ten knives at the show.

This MAGNIFICENT work of art was in my "TOP 10" at 2011 Blade. What a great piece!

I re-read the descriptions and took my time, for a third viewing, to see the entirety of this work. It really is a monumental piece.

So often, people glance at the images without reading the descriptions - and this one has so much going on that it begs to have the description read and re-read. I personally find works like this wonderfully pleasing, especially since ones like this appeal to my sense of art and design, moreso than most all of the Bowies I see.

Best,

Bob

Here is another visual interpretation of Eric's excellent RAW Photography.

I created this page for Sharla's section in my next big book. Next to it
is one amazing large Persian Folder.

This illustration is part of a larger chapter, "The Feminine Touch"
on women custom knife makers and collectors.

All the best,

David, Jon-

It's really amazing how this new creation goes so well with the other Persian folder, perfect to put on the same page together. An awesome coupling, indeed.
