Shaving kit

Just finished this up, it's my brothers b-day present, although I do plan on making some more to sell (hint hint)

Other than shaving cream and aftershave, this has everything you need for straight shaving. The razor, a styptic pencil, and a strop. Originally I was going to make a cherry box for the razor, but do to my lack of carpentry skills, that failed. But I rather like how this turned in any case.

Razor - forged from 1080, my first hollow grind (you can see that I accidentely ground out part of my touchmark), and sharp as... well, a razor.


Now that I got this finished, off it goes to USNA.

Nice kit there brother! I'm a big fan of "Kamisori" style straights and I am sure your Brother will be stoked to receive it. I've really enjoyed giving shaving kits to family/friends to get them into straight razor shaving (and most of them have converted). Good luck with your future razors; let me know if you need anybody to try them out ;-)

I've never tried shaving with a straight razor or it's Japanese counterpart.
I have the feeling though, if I did, you would most likely have to include 2 styptic pencils in my kit
That and a team of paramedics......... to stop the profuse bleeding

No doubt in my mind your brother will love and cherish this gift :thumbup:
