I've obviously developed a fetish for the combination of a mosaic damascus blade, S-guard and grey giraffe bone 'cause I think this is one of the better-looking knives I've come across in a while (no, it's not mine - photo from knifeart.com):

Check out that looooong graceful clip. I really like the look of the grey handle with the damascus blade and think the bright forged stainless steel S-guard is a nice contrast to both. Gotta get me a McIntyre one day.

Cheers,

Roger

Same here. I too want a McIntyre blade before I retire, or run out of cash. :) Something like the above will do just fine. :D

Great looking knife! Giraffe bone doesn't usually appeal to me in the least, but the way this one has been shaped and also the way it has been carved to look somewhat resemble stag does a lot for this material, in my eyes.

The blade is outstanding. That long clip and great looking damascus are really eye catching.

The halfpenny S-guard has become my favorite and I think that a knife of this style looks best with a ferrule. This knife has it all, including pin size and positioning that add to the look of the handle. Very nicely done.

Great looking bowie! Still not crazy about giraffe bone, but this one goes well with it.

WOW! That is one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL and APPEALING bowie/fighters I think I've ever seen.

That is just flat FAN-fricking-TASTIC!!!! :)

Hi guys, I was in Shawns shop when that grey giraffe bone was married to the blade. Shawn had a dozen blades on the go for his trip over there but could not decide on handle combos. Ultimatelly it was the color of the damascus that dictated which pair of scales to use. We also thought the satin finish on the stainless guard and ferule would further enhance the knifes appeal. You also should know that the ferule and tapered tang are integral and were forged out of round 416 bar stock. Shawn knows how much I loved the finished knife and that I feel it is his best piece to date. I also feel the knife was a major steping stone in his skills and confidence as a maker. He is a mate and that makes me bias, but I know excellent work when I see it as I am sure you all do.
