Since moving back to the US late last year, I've been slowly reconnecting to past friends, one such friend is Ban of Bantang knives. I had visited his shop a couple weeks ago to pick up a custom I had ordered from him years ago (before life took me on a 2 1/2 year detour to Mexico) and at that time, he was kind enough to let me leave my SHBA with him for a little work.

Here's my SHBA before Ban did his magic:

And after:

As you can see it does have some light scratches from the kydex, but this has been and will continue to be a user, so I don't mind:

I'm so grateful for Ban's willingness to do this work for me. He doesn't do much modification work anymore, but he was nice enough to hook up a friend and I am grateful...this is one of the few knives I've held on to for a good while now and don't plan on ever letting go - that gorgeous satin finish and Ban's work ensure that this will continue to be the case :)

Sweet....Ban can sure dress 'em up with that nice convex and scary sharp edge....:thumbup

Thanks for the kind words guys....Ban really is a master at what he does, and it shows in every piece of his that I've seen.

Sweet! My fingers are bleeding just looking at that edge.

LoL! I know what you mean - ridiculously, scarily, simply STUPID levels of sharpness achieved. And the coolest thing is that just regular stropping seems to maintain that level of insane sharpness for a pretty long time. Ban's edge and INFI are a great match together!

Awesome! That looks great! Ban does some incredible work.

That looks so sharp it could make air bleed.

I picked up a BT6 from him at Blade the last year he was there. Really nice guy and an amazing knife. That SHBA is absolutely incredible. Congrats!

Beautiful and congratulations!!!! That is a great knife and a fantastic regrind! Nice to see that Ban still will do a Busse occasionaly! Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

:) :) :) *Seriously guys, thanks for the kind words.* I had a feeling you’d enjoy this as much as I do...

Wow, is that even the same knife? ;)

LOL!* I was, and still am asking myself the same thing!* Can't put it down...this SHBA some serious charm going for it.* The kind of charm that begs for a beating ;)

I've seen his work before. Congrats!!! you were very fortunate to get Ban to do this for you👍

You're totally right man, I am super fortunate that he was willing to hook me up with this work.* As I said in another post, Ban is a friend and I think that's part of why he extends such kindness and I am very grateful.* We first met a few years ago and just recently got back in touch for the first time since I moved back to California.

Beautiful and congratulations!!!!* That is a great knife and a fantastic regrind!* Nice to see that Ban still will do a Busse occasionaly!* Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!* Ban is a serious knife guy and knife lover just like all of us and I think he has trouble resisting a nice blade.* As you know, he was a serious Busse fan too...from what I can tell, he still gets a little weak in the knees for a badass chunk of INFI - don't tell him I told you that though ;) :p *

The fact that I drop off and pick up from the shop just in the normal flow of visiting and hanging out is a lot lower stress for Ban than having to ship an expensive or precious blade across the country and worry about hard deadlines - and I think that helps a lot too...

This is not a Busse, but another Ban Tang you might like (my first true custom too):
Not gonna go into details here, but you can read more details about it in my recent post in Ban's sub-forum if interested :)
