Just wondering if there is any interest in a SHBA passaround????
I'm pretty sure I have one I can spare for a few weeks if enough HOG's and or piglets are interested.
I will limit it to 10 with a week or so each.
You must be known (by me or one of the other HOG's I trust) here on the forum or have someone here who will vouch for you.

Those interested please let me know and also let me know which other knives you have to compare the SHBA to.

Yes, I would be very interested for the SHBA passaround! :D but Ive had them before....so someone else can enjoy it.

I would be Very interested also, I have the last badger that was released. I guess a Dumpster Mutt would be similar? I have 3 different flavors of that. I also have numerous non Busse Kin knives that I could compare it too that might be around its size. I have never held or seen one so its tuff for me to say how many knives will be close to it.

If its closer to an SFNO I have one of those, different flavors of the ASH, Scrapper6, RAT-4.

I'm very interested in this as I've been eyeing one for a while now yet have never seen nor held one in person.

Though we don't know each other, if you recall - you and I did exchange a PM or two about SHBAs a few months back.

In any case, it's a great offer and I'd be super pleased and absolutely responsible for it if selected to participate.

Edited to add: I have a CG ASH1 I'll be comparing it against if I'm lucky enough to get the chance. Thanks.

I'd love to handle one and put it through its paces, but out here the closest thing to a tree can be cut down with my 4 inch Mora in one swipe. Next summer when we get together for a BBQ or whatever I'd love to handle one and see what this end all/be all monster is about. I'm sure I'll need to get one sometime.

I'd be interested in just seeing how it feels in hand, and not even using it. I've been considering one for the past year, so this could tip me into buying one on the exchange, gulp! 1PorkerTracker

I'll sign up. I've got all of the above, I would guess (especially ASHs -- I went through an embarrassing phase of heavy ASH collecting). Plus plenty of other mid-size Busse knives. Might be worthwhile checking it out against Meaners ... certainly got those.

I'd probably throw in some RATs, too. Those are fine, fine knives ... and I've got 'em all.

Maybe the odd medium-sized Becker, also.:)

EDIT: it's also possible we Virginia piglets could "gather together" and review it together against our various knives. There are a few of us -- me, Jeepnut22, KH (of course), dduanegrat (I've probably got that forum name wrong), and there are others (007 comes to mind).

I handled one briefly at Blade last year...and it is admittedly my Grail Busse even after that brief exposure. I would love an opportunity to actually use one for a little while. Thank you, Dave!

I really love how Straight Handled Badgers look. I would love to get in on a pass arround with old straight handled goodness!

The only size I have for comparison is my convexed Ash1 CG. My Convexed FBMLE is much bigger, and my little GW and SS are tiny (although I think the SS might be about the same overall length, but much thinner, and convexed, and stripped). I would like to compare it to the Ash1, which I love the handle on. The Ash1 will be bigger and thicker, of course.

Any of the people on my list of feedback could vouch for me. I have done a prototype passarround for Koster's EDC protos with two of his knives and did reviews for them on the Koster sub forum.

I've never held one either... and I promise I will give this one back. :p ;)

:D :D

Very cool of you Piglet... really, if its the Ducci Special, I'd love to check it out.
But in all honesty, you might not get it back...
best to put me last on the list so the other porkers get their turn. :o

:D ;)

Still trying to decide which SHBA to passaround but it's looking like it will probably be my Ducci SHBA.

Dave, is that an INFI or an A-2 blade? Did Tim replace the smooth bolts with tube fasteners?

its really nice

its really nice regardless:thumbup:

KH,

It is an INFI SHBA that Ducci replaced the slotted fasteners with tubes and made some super sweet feeling hand shaped black linen micarta handes for.

I am absolutely in for another get together:):)

Which just proves we Virginia piglets are gluttons for punishment.:)

I'm pretty sure I narrowly missed turning poor KH into a real, 21st century pirate at least twice during our last get together. I'm enthusiastic, but not particularly 'graceful.':D

Hmm. If this is significant enough, we could even try to round up some of the Pennsylvania contingent (like Jaxx) .... ;)
