I just picked up a Bushwacker and i have got to say, it is the nicest feeling Mistress i have had.

my fav was always the CGFBM, but the BWM feels much better as far as weight, balance, and ergonomics are concerned...

i was not a fan of the ergo mistress and the NMFBM was always too heavy imo.

i have never had the pleasure of handling one of the SHBMs though....they are a bit too spendy for me:o

i have noticed some side by side pics of some custom shops, smooth bolts and slotted with the BWM.... the styling of the Bushwacker seems influenced by these older mistresses.

my question is... for those Hogs who have one of the old skool mistresses as well... how do they stack up against the BWM????

IMHO there is no comparison. The SHBM dominates all Mistress blades. I have owned the FFBM, NMFBM, CGFBM, BWM, and the SHBM. I still have two SHBMs and none of the others. The blade is light, fast in hand, long, and efficient. I love it. But to each his or her own, and I am sure many others will have a unique opinion.

Get the BWM LE, you'll love it!

+1, Best knife ever! I like the longer handle and over all design. Plus the warranty covers the full cost of the knife.
If you ruin a SHBM, you are covered for only the original shop cost.

I would much rather use a BWM - GREAT knife, super comfortable. Go for the LE. The SHBM was painful to chop with - even when wearing gloves.

I've got the Bwmle and two Shbm's a Fbmle,Nmfbm. The Bwmle is about as close as your going to get to the Shbm in this day and age. Although the handle on the Bwmle is quite a bit longer compared to the Shbm. Still the Bwmle is an awesome knife and i would never part with it. If your trying to decide i would get one at shop prices while you still can. I don't think you'll be disapointed. Good luck in your quest/grail mistress. ;)

Now that IS a good point !:thumbup:

Had'nt thought of that side of things .... it certainly makes sense too ....

The BWM LE is my most comfortable Busse and balance wise feels the best .... when they feel good like that you can take on some pretty big tasks and the knife just keeps on working and your hands are fine ....

You can put it on your belt too without feeling you are carrying too much knife  A great all rounder
