Step-daughter presented m,e with a beautigul Duluth lock-back folder yesterday. It's abour 4' closed open it is about 6 1/4 ". Hollow ground with a fairly decent steel & the hardwood handles are great .

Is something to keep or a piece of imported garbage ?

A curious Uncle needs to know .

Uncle Alan

Look anything like this ?

I second what Samhain said. Just stick in a drawer to help keep your socks from flying off. :D

The bottom right hand side says 'Classic Designer Knife Kits'. The wood is cocobolo. Probably made by Maxam in China, but it doesn't look bad.

Same company that makes some of the folder kits for a certain website. I know because I've bought a number of the kits. :D
Really not bad materials , 440 blade , SS frame , the wood is probably dymondwood cocobolo.

Nothing special? Everything special. A gift from a daughter is a never-sell.

She should have given you a compass so you wouldn't get lost and go to Gadgets & Gear when you want to talk about knives. :D

My brain-injured daughter (hit and run) emptied her pockets in the motel Friday night after an afternoon at Blade, and presented me for my birthday with three Frost folders that she had purchased with change from her lunch money. Said they cost her a dollar each. Of course I will keep them! I made a big deal over them, too.

That is just so sweet of her!

Those are bring-to-your-grave kind of gifts..:)

I have a display case full of "cehap" knives that I got as gifts from all kinds of distant family members, and some friends...Not the best knives, peope buy them because they look nice in display bopxes and all, but I cherish these gifts anyway, they mean alot to me since people went out of their way to buy me a knife knowing how much I like them...So I show them off! I dont use them for obvious reasons, but I really do appreciate them just as much I do my nice knives!

My imidiate family, mother, father and sister know me beter and sometiems suprise me with awesome knives! and Zippos...

My dad is getting a parcel with a BM 710 today, for Father's Day.

My presents will be a shriek, a laugh, and a loaded diaper.

:D
