Hi , I've decided to start an LB7 collection. I've read the various threads in this forum on serial numbers and years - great work, very informative.
Just bought a couple of used knives but now I want to buy a LB7 NIB but I am suspicious about which ones are genuine original and which ones are sellers matching knives with sheaths and boxes and paperwork.
I'm located in Australia and can't readily find knives in flea markets or shops. So I can really only view or buy online and therefore it is easy to get ripped off.
There are currently some on Ebay which have a variety of sheaths and paperwork attached and I'm a little hesitant to bid hard if I'm not getting and orginal set.
So my simple questions to this wise group are:
1 - Did LB7 four pins come only in black sheaths or also tan?
2 - Did LB7 three pin come in only tan sheaths?
3 - What are the various pieces of paperwork that should be in a complete NIB package?
4 - Any general rules on what the boxes looked like for 3-pin, 4-pin or years?
5 - Any tips or traps for new players starting to spend money on a new hobby?
I appreciate you can undertake a PHD on some of these questions but keen for any answers.
Happy to be directed to another thread if these questions have already been dealt with somewhere.
Cheers
