Sheath dates?

I'm in quandary about the period of time that I owned my first Buck 119, and the only way I can come up with an estimated date is by the sheath style. (I don't have access to the knife any more - given to my uncle.)

The sheath was black, sewn all the way around - not folded over with just the edge seam sewn as in the recent ones I've seen; it had a strap that wrapped around the handle, NOT a flap over the entire handle, as on the older sheaths.

Anybody know time period when the different 119 sheath styles were introduced?

If I understand your description correctly, I would say mid to late 1980's.

Thanks T Scholz - that may narrow the timeframe down a little; it was new in the box when I bought it, and I can't remember if it was 1983-84 or around 1988.
