Sheath Debate/Mystery

Hi All,
I have several beckers, love them all.

I saw some people stating that there are new BK sheaths without glass. But, having contacted Ka-bar CS, I was told they have some glass in the sheaths. I saw Moosz45 said he knew about the removal of glass. I trust what you all say here on the forum. Anyone know what is really going on?
 
like SS said, they have some glass, just the old GFN ones had more glass the new ones are significantly less. The only issue was with the BK-11/14 sheaths too. The nylon ones that comes with the big beckers never had any problems. Besides the fact "they suck" but they don't even suck anymore!
 
I never had a problem with mine in the dulling department. I just had the sheath crack on me and I was considering if kydex or trying to pick up a replacementment and which one would be a better option. Good to know.
 
yah, the new sheaths are not glass free, just less glass. I haven't really had a problem with my 11 (with the old sheath) or 14 (new sheath) but the BK2 in the family has the sheath dulling problem bad. It's probably an early 2011/late 2010 Ka-Bar.
