hello everyone hope all is well and sharp.
thanks for all the help on my bolster dilema.
how many of your customers that purchase user outdoor fixed blade knives actually wear them? I remember when I was a teenager and did lots of fishing I use to wear my small fillet knife as that was my line cutter too, but I also remember the odd and freightend looks I would get from folks seeing it on my side. same goes when I lived in maine and would wear my bird knife when out grousin or cruisin the woods with the dogs I would stop to get coffe etc and the eyeballs would focus on whats hanging on my belt.
it was funny cuz they look at the knife and then look at me like I had 3 heads. I guess its human nature I was in my local dive shop and a fellow that works for the state came in and had a shrade sharp finger on his side and I did the same thing most do Looked at the knife and then him with caution (I caught myself doing it and came up with this thought)
with the above experience I got to a point of taking off my knife when ever I was in a situation that folks other than other hunters hikers... were around. this was /is a pain.
I prefer as many folks do a fixed blade and wondering are any of you doing sheath designs that are DIFFERENT looking or doesnt look like a knife sheath at least at a quick glance (kydex ... not included) , were talking about small skinners drop points and trout bird size stuff. Im not talking about carrying a fixed blade on a daily basis just a sheath Idea that wont get too many wierd looks when your in inbetween jaunts or run into a store ...
thanks much!!!
