Sheath extension/drop sheath/quick attach sheath adapter?

I'm trying to come up with a way to attach and remove sheathes from my belt without taking the belt off and to adjust the drop length of the sheath so I can wear with an untucked shirt without worry of "concealment" legal problems related to the shirt covering the knife handle.

I want to take a strip of 3" webbing and a slide adjuster to make an adjustable size loop that would go on my belt, then I could use something similar to a 3" Slik Clip to hang a normal belt sheath off of it. The Slik Clip would allow quick removal of the sheath from the belt loop, and would allow me to use it with different sheathes.

Problem is, I can't find a 3" Slik Clip anywhere. Anybody know of a similar product that could accomplish the same thing without getting all tactical?

TIA

I use Velcro. Almost all of my pocket folder sheaths have Velcro-closure belt loops. Two-overlapping leather strap construction, the lower attached at the bottom with loop Velcro glued and sewn on facing out, and the upper sewn at the top with hook Velcro sewn and glued to the inside. Just pull apart, slide the lower up under behind the belt, and drop the upper over the lower and press. Can't come apart even with a heavy load. You don't even have to loosen the belt... but that does make it easier.

Thanks Stitchawl, but this is focused of fixed blade sheathes and an important feature is being able to adjust how far below my belt the sheath hangs. The laws in my state allow for open carry of fixed blades but open carry is not clearly defined. I'm concerned that a fixed blade in a normal belt sheath riding at waist level would allow all or most of the knife's handle to be covered by an untucked shirt, which some LEOs might consider concealed.

I'm sorry I wasn't more clear in my post. This will work just as well for a fixed blade as a folder. The only difference being the length of the leather belt loops. You only need about 1/2" of Velco on each piece. And if you and something that is adjustable for high or low carry, put on two pieces of loop Velcro, one high and one low. Or use a separate strap for each carry. I've used it for carrying a hatchet, a machete, hunting knife, and folder sheaths. Weight or position...It's really not a problem. That's the nice thing about Velcro. It's completely adjustable! :)

Ah! I misunderstood. Thanks for the great idea!
