Sheath fastening for quick one-handed knife deployment

Hello guys,

I would like to ask those knife owners who don't like when the sheath pulls along with the knife during deployment. How do you fasten your sheaths? What materials do you use for these purposes - cords, straps maybe? What are the best of them in terms of firm sheath holding on the body?

I always use multiple fastening points for my knives, never just hanging the sheath on the belt.

Good question. Not many people give good thought to this. I do, because if you are actually using your knife a lot, it only makes sense. You can rig one to work, but IMHO, custom sheaths are the way to go. I also wanted to be able to draw my knife with one hand. But I also wanted it to be able to be carried all day with no issues while working, bending, squatting down, enter/exit vehicles, get on/off/into/out of atvs & such. What works for me, may not work for you, but i think it's awesome. You may even consider a weak hand carry, if you carry a sidearm. I like a drop down rig, with a swivel. I like to be able to reach it if on the ground. I like to be able to put it on/off without removing my belt. I like an adjustable elastic leg strap with a snap buckle. I like to be able to remove it with one hand, in one quick pull. I like a thumb ramp to aid in silent removal. I like a drain hole. I like to be able to mount the sheath to something solidly if need be. I like to be able to mount a smaller knife to the same sheath. I guess you could say, I like options. I LOVE these custom ones. I will be getting many more from the same place as money allows. They fit the bill perfectly for me.

Becker BK9, BK7, Gerber Metolius fixed blade. I have worn these all day during hunting season with no issues & glad i had them. VERY comfortable. The 1.5" thick elastic leg band ROCKS !!!

Twinstick- I just bought the Gerber Metolius fixed and the sheath that you have looks so much better than the stock one that came with the knife. Where did you have it made?
