Can anyone recommend a good belt sheath for a case sodbuster, or someone that can make one? I am finding all kinds of sheaths for sodbuster juniors, but none for a sodbuster. Thanks.

It just might fit pretty well in a Buck 110 sheath.

The Kutmaster Pigman Sidekick is a cheap backlock sodbuster that comes with a leather horizontal carry sheath. A Case Sodbuster fits it perfectly. I paid in the neighborhood of fifteen bucks.

Case has several sheath models for their larger folding knife patterns listed on their home site:

I was interested in this, as well, so I called Case, and the lady told me that for the standard Sodbuster, the large sized side draw sheath would be correct. I didn't ask about the vertical sheaths, but I imagine the same "sizing" would work for those.
$9 for a leather horizontal sheath is difficult to beat... I ended up ordering a large, medium, and a trapper sheath.
Worked out to just over $10 per sheath.
They won't be nearly as stylish as a custom made sheath, but for 1/8 the price? Form follows function...:)

Hope that works out well for you.

I vaguely recall, back in the early '90s when I started accumulating a large number of knives (many Case knives included), seeing vendor pics of the large Case Sod Buster in an open-top belt sheath, which looked pretty good. So, I figured there must be something out there for it, somewhere. Good luck to you. :)

I thought the large sheath should work, emailed Case to make sure, received a reply from customer service that none of their sheaths would work with a large sodbuster. Maybe I got a reply from someone new. Guess I will just buy one and find out for sure. I don't need stylish, basically just a good sturdy sheath so I can legally carry it. Around here if the blade is over 3 1/2" a knife can't be carried concealed.

I wonder if the GEC large sheath would work, it's 5 1/2" Tall. GPKnives say's it fits up to about a 5" knife
The small sheath fits the Bullnose and #43 beauufully.

That's worth looking at. I have my tribal lock in a Buck 112 polyester* sheath and it's perfect. The sodbuster is About a half inch longer, I believe.

*People call it "nylon" but Buck says it's polyester.

I wonder how many leisure suits had to give up their lives to make those sheaths.....?

For what it's worth, I was just looking at the leather snap-closure sheath for one of my Buck 111 folders, which is identical in size & pattern to the 110, but with slightly different styling where the handle cover ends meet the nickel bolsters. I tried out one of my Case Sod Busters in it, a 3138 CV model from 2006. Lengthwise, it's a perfect fit in the Buck 111 sheath. The large soddie is less bulky than the Buck 110/111, so there's a little bit of free movement in the sheath with the Sod Buster, whereas the Buck is a more snug fit. But with the snap closure closed, the length is perfect. So, that could work if nothing else is at hand.

Regarding closed length of each knife, there's only 1/8" difference between the Buck and the large Sod Buster, with the soddie being slightly shorter than the Buck (4-3/4" vs. 4-7/8").

I just tried a Boker Sodbuster (4 5/8") in a GEC large sheath - excellent fit.

I have Buck's polyster sheath for a very old 112 of mine. Pretty nice sheath for the money!

UPDATE:
I received the sheaths I bought from Case. The large horizontal sheath fits the Sodbuster pretty nicely. It might slide in slightly further if you put it in the other end first, but this is the way I intend to carry it.
I'm thinking I might dye the leather darker brown, and wet form it, but I haven't decided yet.

Oh, and the trapper vertical sheath fits the large trapper perfectly, as expected.

A. G. Russell sells two nice leather belt sheaths, large and small. One should work.
