This is one large rascal of a knife, a thick solid folder, a bit too large for me,
she came in for a fitting and here's how things ended up;

First a shot of the knife;

large Sebenza on the left, Todd Begg Glimpse folder on the right

Here is a shot of the top section formed, dyed and glued down to the next
layer of leather, then I take and punch the holes around it and trim the
one side to the final width as once it's glued to the next layer you can't
mess with it.

and the back side, the back piece of leather runs the full length and as I
fold it down, I trim off some to form the belt loop

Fitup is nice and snug, pops into the sheath very well for such a large knife!

Very clean and precise. I was doing a leatherman sheath the other day and wondered how one of your sheaths would look for a thicker knife... I just don't know how you get it to look so good. What weight is that leather? Is it from W&C?
I just can't get it to form so tightly on larger items and to get that point of the handle so nice is just awesome...

Oh yeah... how do you seal the flesh side so the dye doesn't rub off?

Thanks SBranson and Dusty,

The weight of the top section is 6/7 oz and it's pretty darn hard to form this
tightly around something this large!!! You have to press VERY hard as you form
and you have to hold the sides down otherwise you will just be see-sawing
back and forth from side to side as you form.

the back side has some Gum tragacanth as well as a coating of Atom balm wax
but the key is to have patience and let things dry before you apply any covering
otherwise it'll be like a crayon and leave a trail all the time.

I believe that is on back order ;)

Sorry forgot to answer the question, yes the leather is from Wickett and Craig.

The person got his knife and sheath back, unfortunately the leather did cause some
rub marks on the highly polished handles, Todd Begg is having him ship the knife and
sheath out to him and he will re-polish the handles. These sheaths are a very tight
fitting affair, which is required in order to keep the retention that is needed, so it's
not for your knives you keep as safe queen type knives, but using kind of folders.
While he still loved the sheath and workmanship, he decided to get it repolished,
I had looked at the folder before it left and didn't see any untoward marks on there
but must have been some from the tight fitup.
