Sheath for Bark River

I have a Bark River Gameskeeper, and the sheath is no good anymore. It was the basic Bark River sheath, but it won't really hold the knife at all anymore. If you held it upside down it would fall out.

Anyways, I need a new sheath. I usually like kydex, but it wouldn't look right with this knife (wood handles, mosaic pins, etc.), and I don't want to scratch it up anyway.

So the deal is I'm looking for a new sheath for my knife that will actually hold it. (meaning if it's leather it had better at least have a snap. Slip sheaths just don't work for me).

Any ideas?

Tight fitting leather sheaths with snaps. Really fine work, and Mr. Puckett is a really nice guy to deal with.

Those look nice. I'd really like a place that has that design in house though, so I don't have to send my knife out. We'll see what shows up.

Well, I would start with contacting Bark River, as I am sure that they will replace the sheath for you.

I'm not interested in the same kind of sheath: I don't like the stock Bark River ones. ^_^

Thanks anyways, guys.

Check the Bark River forum--at least one guy (Reid) there is making some good Kydex sheaths for Barkies. I got one for my OMF, and he's got A LOT of different designs to choose from. If you don't see something you like, he'll make what you ask.

Cheers,
Daniel

RGR at knifeforums does a lot of Bark River Sheaths in leather. He might be able to do it with out your sending the knife in.

Our own K.V. Collucci is quite a talented sheath maker!! Check with him.

Well, I contacted Bark River, and it looks like my problem is a not uncommon one. They will be sending me a newly designed sheath, with a snap in a few weeks. We'll see how that goes. I may end up getting an aftermarket sheath anyway, If I'm not happy with this new one.
