sheath for fiskars hatchet

Anyone out there know of a source for a sheath for a Fiskars hatchet...
would like one to better secure it to my pack.

any ideas??

I thought the fiskar doesn't come with one at all. Might want to look into getting a gerber one, I'm pretty sure it'll fit.
 
I'd say the gerber one but they wont sale you a sheath, you'll probably have to either make one or have one made.
 
Roll your own! It's easy.

This was one of my first sheath attempts, not very attractive but functional...

If you were going for pure function, you could entirely skip the sewing step and get away with just the leather lace, I believe. You'd probably still want to glue and bind a welt in there though, as even my sheath is a pretty tight blade fit.

Very simple project overall, though. Fun, too.
 
i bought my sheath from MEC it was only 5 bux and only required a tad bit of modification.

you can also buy them at rona

i believe the brand is called kunny's

but i dunno if they're available where u are

And about $87 billion dollars to ship it into the States. Make sure you get the skinny on their shipping policy/options before ordering. I have ordered from MEC in the past. Their prices are decent, but to ship items into the US can get expensive. I think my PFD ran about $40 shipping to WI.

As far as I know, yes. I believe MEC is like a Canadian version of REI. Good store, and good customer service, from what I've experience.
 
Get a Molle version, or get something that's safe so you don't end up sitting on it.belts axe.jpg
 
Thanks for the pic, Dahsyat. I've been pressing kydex sheaths all week and was wondering how i wanted to go about one for the fiskars. I think something that enters from the top back might be nice.

edit: just noticed the little picture link from robert h, thats the kind of thing i was thinking about. It looks like it will clip in and out really nicely.

I made it that way mainly for speed of deployment, but other way is just as easy to make... :)
