Merry Christmas everyone :)

I just wanted to take a quick temperature check on sheaths made with patterned linings for a SOB so its more decorative. Since the type of lining I am planning to use is mostly used for ladies' scarves and dresses so my intuition tells me that it will be more favoured by women than men. However in small quantities (such as those used as pocket squares) it could also be a male orientated item too. What's your opinion on this?

If you were ever to have one of these would you consider wearing one yourself? Or would you think of it more as a present for your wife or daughter?

I'll post the pattern up when I make it but I just wanted to get a general read on people's opinion before making one.

Thank you for your help everyone! :)

Pics for reference?

Hi rcb2000 :)

I've got the lining but I'm hoping to keep the pattern on the down low for reasons you will see in the coming few days! ;)

If you can imagine a floral handkerchief that's the sort of patter that I have. Sorry I would love to show you the pic but I want to keep it as a surprise!

What is it made of? (the lining) I only ask b/c I've heard of kydex lined w/ felt. (I never owned a lined sheath so I'm curious)

Not sure what to say until you post the pics for us to look at then I'll be glad to give some input as one of the ladies on this forum!

yeah I've never owned a lined sheath either so I'm curious to see what this is like. If it's a tasteful pattern then I guess I wouldn't mind a lined sheath but it depends on what the pattern is and the type of cloth.

I don't speak for all women but for me personally, I don't really like the cloth/flowery/pink/frilly kind of stuff on gun holsters, knife sheaths, or on the weapons themselves (like pink Glocks the gun shop tried to sell me. Made me want to shoot him with it, lol). I prefer plain regular stuff but I'm open-minded, open to a tastefully done pattern since the lining is on the inside.

If we can't see pics, can you tell me - is it a silky kind of cloth or more like felt-type stuff that Ratman79 mentioned? What are the colors involved/overall color scheme?

Thank you both for your reply! The fabric is cotton and it's very thin (about the same thickness as a bedsheet, the texture too) but it is reinforced with a layer of shirt stiffener. The overall colour is white with various bright colours like green and orange. Sorry I can't show it to you right now I'll post it up soon!
