Hi there,

I recently got a Leatherman SuperTool 300. I really like it, other than the sheath. The sheath is half molle, half nylon and has a snap. It seems bulky and the snap catches on things.

I'd like the slim-est, tight-est sheath I can find, also one with velcro (if the flap does catch on something it will re-seal itself). On Leatherman's site, I see 4 that will work. Please advise on any of your thoughts. Thanks in advance for your help!!

#1: This one looks decent to me:

#2: This one looks generic and bulky. I personally don't think this one is good:

#3: I really like the looks of this one. I like that it is plain (no yellow). It says it has room for extra panels and bits. I won't be using it for that. That makes me think it will be extra bulky:

#4: I like the looks of this one as well (for the same reasons as #3). It says it has internal panels, but that they are tight with 4.5" tools. Makes me think this is probably the best one for my needs:

Mine is the Nylon Sheath II, which came packaged with my ST 300. It works great, just about perfect. Long term wear is still to be determined, but I have a similar one for a Charge Tti that in 3 years has held up pretty well. In time, the Velcro may lose its grip, but the sheath is cheap enough to replace, if necessary.

I just got my friend a ST 300 and I also got him a Maxpedition single sheath. I dont consider it bulky but it is heavy duty and bomb proof, but remarkably thin and easy riding.

For me, this one is the "smallest" and least bulky that works with the ST300. I'm sort of a sheath junky and, like you, look for the most utility with the least bulk.

I had the same problem with the ST300 sheath, so mine now rides in the nylon sheath that came with a Fuse. It's snug but fits real nice, and it's a much more manageable package.

Thanks for the advice.

I liked the looks of the Maxpedition with no logos. Very clean and simple. Ordered one today. Will see how it works!
