I was recently given a Swisstool RS by a friend that was going overseas and didn't want it any longer, but it had no sheath. The wife and I are saving for a house so rather than buy a factory sheath I made my own. I haven't finished it yet but just wanted to show my efforts off.

Cool - its so nice to see someone solve a problem with their own hands.

Very nice looking - any thoughts about touching up the edges of the leather with black dye or marker? People will think its store bought then!!!

Well done. May I ask how much experience you have working with leather? It's something I would like to get into but I havent the time to pick up anohter hobby anytime soon.

EDIT: Can you please also share a picture of the back, where the belt goes through. Thank you!

Thanks for the replies. As I said it's not finished, I have to finish slicking edges and then it will be dyed black.

I have made sheaths for years, couldn't really tell you how long, 20 years maybe? I don't do "fancy" work, just simple stuff. My brother does the "fancy" work like below.

Good looking job - I've made a few sheaths over the years -for things to big to pocket -but never had much luck with setting snaps - so I sew a band over the face of the sheath and just leave the flap long to tuck in - it works fine.
Peace, and keep sewing
