Sheath for Rat ESEE RC-3

The MOLLE back works well for belt carry; it rides low enough that it is easy to draw. Besides the MB you could use Paracord and cord lock, the boot clip, or the MOLLE locks if your belt is thin enough.

that is a fairly broad question.

what are you looking to spend?
what materials are you interested in?
what design? (low ride high ride etc)

there are options that range from affordable kydex, to slightly more expensive leather, to pricey leather/kydex hybrids.

Thanks Gundude. I suppose more detail is important.

I am looking for Kydex. I am new to fix blade knives, but guessing I would prefer a high ride sheath as that is how I carry firearms. I guess I also need to consider where it will be carried given I have a firearm on my right side most of the time. Maybe someone could tell me the pros and cons of high vs. low ride along with whether a cross draw or horizontal may have advantages, if I am carrying a firearm? For those of you with firearms, where do you carry your knife? I would prefer to spend less than the knife which was $100, but dont want cost to be the limiting factor.

okay now i can give a recommendation :D

kydex is well under 100 dollars. i think if you are carrying a firearm a high ride sheath would be better, concealability etc.

there are a lot of kydex sheath makers on the forums. one, in this instance, i would recommend is "shotgunner11" he is an ESEE mod and has the same knife you do so you wouldnt need to send it out. he can fix you up with a sheath that is adjustable for carry position, for a good price.

Once or twice a year I agree with Gundude. This is one of them. :D

I'm in your same boat. I carry a gun pretty much every day and when I carry a knife opposite it, I prefer it to ride higher than lower.

Shotgunner is the man for this job IMO. Check out his website for a few pics at www.doublebarrelsheaths.com

Gratuitous pic of the monstrous 5 (3 will ride much higher obviously) across from my favorite handgun....the G19.

adaman, sounds like we are on the same page. I most often carry the G19 or the Sig P228 at around 4:00. I like where you have the ESEE. Any issues with using the paracord to attach or is there a better method?
