Sheath friction issue

I just got a Sable IV and the sheath is a little loose.

I've had other one-piece knives with this similar sheath (Nkonka, Sable I, Mountaineer) that didn't have the retention snap. All of them stayed in rather well just by friction.

This one falls out if I turn the sheath upside down.

I'm just afraid that if I'm carrying it and I fall down or something, it'll fall out and I could hurt myself.

How can I increase the friction or get it to stay in better? Will Reeve replace my sheath if I ask?

I had a Very Tight sheath with my Mark VI. I was worried about putting the knife through the sheath, so I contacted Heather as CRK. The knife must be sent in so they can investigate the issue. She contacted the sheath maker as well and found me a sheath that was just right for me. She sent the knife back with the sheath as well as postage I paid to send it in the first place. So, Contact Heather at CRK and she will definately take care of you. I just emailed her back and forth, so you dont have to call. I had the knife back pretty quick. From the day I sent it in to the day I got it back was less than 10 business days, so thats good. Just another reason why CRK Customer Service is #1 !!!!!

OK. I'll do that. I'll have to insure the heck out of my knife since I value it so much. Thanks.

Definately insure it, its cheap for the coverage you get. Email CRK and they will get back to you on Monday I am sure. They work from Monday-Thursday now and are off Friday - Sunday. Heather is the greatest and will surely take care of you. I have probably emailed her with questions about 50 times this year and she always gets back to me the next day, or the day after that at the latest.
The Sable IV is an awsome knife. I picked one up last fall and took it hunting with me. It did a beautiful job of field dressing my deer and skinning it. I have many one-piece knives and love every one of them.

If you are going to use it really heavily, a heavy duty nylon sheath may have advantages over leather
