Hey off subject a little but I just ran out of leather and cant remember where I got the last stuff I had for making my hillbilly sheaths.... any suggestions on buying some cheap leather?

i bought a posterboard sized piece of leather from a leather shop literally 100 yds from my house. i just ran out and went back earlier this week and was turned away. he said he didn't have anything for me. he said to just search online.

chatted with him a few minutes, and as it turns out, i have been using horsehide. he says that is really hard to come by now. he has been bugging his distributor and they say they can't keep it in stock.

i would say go to tandy leather website (he actually pulled out their catalog as a reference for what to get). that is what i am going to do. i will probably get a 6-7oz side or maybe just a shoulder section. haven't looked yet though.
