I realize this topic has been discussed before but I'm not quite clear on it.

A little info: Hellfire Forge constructed me a knife for work. A knife I can take apart, its thick with a flat ground and a bit of a longer handle. Its a great knife, just the sheath is not so good. Its very stiff leather, and high ridin. I prefer pouch sheaths as I like to hang the belt loop threw a carabinner(sp?) as my boss has done for years. Its in the open, not to low to use, and it makes it legal. Now, my HR sheath fits this knife, but the sheath is a bit worn, but functional as long as I don't...hang upside down..then the knife would plop out. Its almost the same specs as the bog dog, except...different steel, handle material, ect.

So my question is...how would I tighten this leather pouch sheath to fit better?

Or...

My onscene tactical sheath, this custom knife always fits in there with a little click. Werid, huh? They got the specs down pact for this knife? How would I attach a belt loop on this so it would hang lower?

I have no good suggestions on the leather sheath. Attaching a belt loop to the kydex should be no hassle though. A couple of my kydex sheaths has a belt loop attached by the same screws that can attach a clip to mine. The belt loop is a section of nylon web material, Drill/burn nice round holes through the webbing in line with the holes in the hollow rivets that hold the sheath together attach the webbing via Chicago bolts. For extra strength, add a piece of kydex behind the webbing and make a sandwich with the webbing in the middle. You may have to adjust this general theme to fit the sheath makers design. There is also the option of making a drop beltloop out of kydex. This is a little stiff though. Good luck. It is fun trying to make a good thing better. Your kydex sheath maker might even make an attachment for his sheath for you quite cheaply. Most of these guys are great that way!
