I tried my hand at a couple more sheaths (my third and fourth to date), one for my milganzaa stripped AD and the other for my jungle green HRLM (thanks again LH!)

When I was back in Canada three weeks ago I bought a bunch of hardware and tools from Tandy and then I proceeded to forget them all. So these were once again made with the basics:

- dremel drill press with bit
- contact cement
- Olfa knife
- steel ruler
- compass
- bees-wax thread
- two needles
- shoe polish, black and brown

I pinned back the strap on the HRLM sheath as I won't have snaps for it until I get back to Canada.

My next attempt will be a hanger sheath for my FFFBM.

Man that's really good work, incredible that you've only done a handful...

I think you must just have good leather-oriented instincts. That looks like good work to me.

I can imagine the 'hash' I'd make of it! :)

Goodness gracious, your work is excellent! I can't believe this is just numbers 3 and 4...

Oh no, another hide bender:D

I'm starting to hate all youse guys for being able to something that just doesn't come to me:grumpy:

When I try to do a leather sheath, it looks something at the bottom of the cliff where a stampede ended up:o

I love the look of that AD sheath. I'd proudly wear that one to church.

Keep us posted with your great work.

Thanks

The AD sheath is awesome. I hope you don't mind if I take a pic to show whoever I get to do one for me. Thanks

great looking leather sheaths!!! i don't have the ability so i won't even try (it would be a big dissaster!) looks clean and functional! (just how i like it!) congrats! what, side job?

Nice work! I hesitate to make my own sheath for few year and now I am really sorry for this. It is very easy to do and for this kind of design not too time consuming. Just cut and sew. And if it is not very thick - Dremel is not really necessary - just an awl will do the work.

Also I found that our local shoe repair shop can do heavy sewing with their machine and even offers me to do this for small fee when I bought from them thread (I refuse because I like to make it myself).

Thanks, Vassili.

Those are your first few attempts:eek:, Dang nice work, not what I was expecting to see.

Rob, you can't continue to say "attempt" any longer. You're doing good work from what I can see. "Attempting" indicates failure and those don't look like rejects to me. Good work.
