Sheath Making with manual sewing machine

Hi would this type of machine work for an amateur hobbyist? Would It be able to sew average sized leather given that the needle that it can take is up to 16 up to 22.

I might be able to get 1 at a lower price.

Artisan has the electric servo motor, heavy duty stitcher Toro 3000 advertised in this month "ShopTalk" for $1795. I can not see why you would even consider a light weight singer 29 clone for $1695?????????

I think you will find the Econo model you referenced a little......no a lot disappointing.

its a clone of singer 29. Not this brand.its going for bout 100 new. I was wondering if its worth the purchase and I cannot test it without buyng.

An old quote rings true, especially on a 100.00 sewing machine "You Get What You Pay For"

Also, it looks like the presser foot doesn't go very high, a critical issue with most machines.
