Sheath Making?

Im wanting to make a sheath for a few fixed blades but dont have what i need to make one out of kydex or leather. Are there any other materials i could use to make a sheath and how? Thanks

If you have sewing skills, cordura is a common sheath material.

I have made afew fixed blade sheaths out of an old tow strap with some success. I used the guts from some paracord and a tapestry needle for the sewing.

I used homemade tools paperclip guides and screwdrivers as stamps and spacers. Dental floss as thread and wood glue to hold while I drilled the holes. I know the edges aren't finished right and the leather isn't finish treated, but I like them. $10 piece of leather and I have 9/10th of it left. I plan on get the right tools and stuff but it does add up fast. I had fun and enjoyed myself so worth $10.

Kyboss, you have some real potential, and I don't generally say things like that lightly. Your design and execution considering the total lack of any proper tools, and materials other than leather is really good, nearly amazing! You should spend a few bucks and get into it with both feet.

I'm impressed with the clean look, nice stitching, and a good design for the knife. The only suggestion I would have is a welt for the knife blade. It may be there and I just can't see it. Beautiful job...Teddy
