Sheath modification for SOG Seal Pup

A question to anyone here:
Has anyone modified the kydex sheath/and or used a different sheath to carry a SOG Seal Pup horizontally along the small of your back? I really like the Seal Pup, fits my hand good, works for what I need, etc. but that sheath is to "clunky" for my tastes, or at least that big plastic clip on the back is (which appears that it can easily be removed). Thanks in advance, any feedback is appreciated.
 
Check Eric at "On Scene Tactical", he pretty much has everything you need for this one.

P.S. if you remove belt clip, the knife will fall out since the strap is what holds it in.
