Hi everybody! I have a bit of an issue. I have an Ang Khola made by Prakash that gets lots of use. Unfortunately the sheath has fallen apart. First the edge got sliced through on a draw and then my son had idle hands and picked away at the torn leather. Had I taken care of the leather the way I should have in the first place, this would be a much different story. Anyway, I'm gearing up to go back on out to Africa and was hoping to have "my AK" LOL. I do still have the wood and all that. Is it possible to get it re-leathered?

Funny... Thinking back on when I bought this knife from Uncle Bill... I remember he sent the knife off to me solely on my promise that I would mail the check to him if I liked the blade or just return it. He was quite a guy.

Speaking as someone who dabbles in leatherwork, it should not be difficult to take it to a skilled leather worker and re-cover it.

Some sheath repair ideas in this thread:

Or you could wrap it in paracord, as shown in this thread:

For some reason i got goosebumps reading that. I know he has walked west now, but to think that someone in this day and age would be so trusting, man what a rare breed he was and it truly is a pity he is no longer with us in physical form. Reading this gives me some hope for mankind.

hey anytime you hold his beliefs in reverence and try to do right by people , you are carrying on what uncle bill wanted. People like bill are the only hope for mankind.

Thanks guys! And Bill was a neat guy. He was an honorable man who not only expected honorable behavior from those with whom he surrounded himself, but cultivated it. I like to think that his example has continued to perpetuate itself here and there :)
