I have an AK47 coming and i'm considering all my options. I have already talked to Mr.Brown and Azwelke, but i'd like to see my other options

I would like a sheath that can be carried either on my back, lashed to a pack, or in an under arm sling position.

Pictures and recommendations along with pricing welcome!

^^^^^ Are you set on kydex? If so, there are lots of makers. Of all of them, BuyBrown has been around the longest and is the most creative maker in the business IMO. He can do anything you want with a sheath. I've never personally owned or seen any of the other guy's sheaths so I can't vouch for them.

If you aren't set on kydex, dwayne from armorall leather is more of an artist than a sheathmaker. His stuff is heirloom quality.

There are plenty of makers out there... and most of them are very good. But I recommend these guys.

Nah, i'm not set on anything. I'm looking at options.

I'm not really looking for a collectors piece, just a highly practical sheath.

I like that thing! shoot me a price (email) on that thing with the strap, and a price with a baldric.

also, is it possible to have friction retention like you would with kydex, or is that asking too much of leather?

I have an Okuden Kydex Scabbard for my AK-47. I find it to be far superior to either the taco or pancake style kydex sheaths for really large blades. It also has two Blade-tech Molle Loks for attachment to my back pack. I can't recommend it enough.

Pics would be helpful... it's kydex but not taco or pancake? I don't know of any other types of kydex sheath

Thanks!
