Sheath Options for Leatherman Wave

I just got the Wave and really like it but don't like the $6 sheath much.

1st, it has these tabs that make it hard to pull it out (I guess I could cut these off). Not sure why they are there.
2nd, it is just cheap looking to me as well.
3rd, I requires the belt to go through. Not very convenient for me.

So what are my options? I would like the following:
1. Be able to carry it horizontally. (both horizontal and vertical would be nice, like a BB holster allows but is not absolutely neccesary)
2. Proably would like a snap cover of some sort. Just depends I guess.
3. Kydex or leather would be ok. Don't really want nylon.
4. No bold markings.

I have done alot of searching but just have not found much of anything.

I usually just put my multis in a mag pouch of similar size . At which point I pitch the factory one over my left shoulder .

There is also a pocket clip available for the Wave from Leatherman. I put a ClipDraw on my SOG PowerAssist because I hate sheaths and looooove it now.

i'd take to a local beltmaker or leather works -the kind who make industrial safety & tool belts. They should be able to make you a made to measure belt pouch to your needs. I'm tipping it will be cheaper than you think & longer lasting.good luck.

dunno 'bout everone else, but i favour nylon simply because it's a trouble-free material.
whilst leather may look sophisticated and has a natural feel to it, it does require lots of care and it's not moisture proof.
kydex would probably outlast other materials but it does cost more.
it's "safe secure carry" if snap buttons along with velcro strips are sewn on to the flap/cover.
having said that, it's also necessary for any intended tool to fit into it's sheath correctly, as a loose fit has the ability to shake a heavy tool about within it's sheath and hence could undo it's flap open or more commonly damage the insides of the sheath by wearing it away till a hole/holes appear.

it's nylon, but,
Redhead brand sheath from BassPro fit my LM Charge like it was made for it.
Vert or horiz carry.
Was about $6 or $8, I think.
They had several sizes in stock, you would have to take the Wave in to try 'em.

Got a Nite Ize nylon sheath. The thing is bullet proof. Has extra pockets for carrying bits or a flashlight. Pocket clip rotates so you can carry it at any angle. Costs about $12 if you can find one at a local hardware store. Lowes also sells them. Had mine for about 2yrs now and looks almost as good as the day I bought it. I use it to carry my Leatherman Charge XTi and all its bits.
