Sheath question.

I want to make a knife sheath like that on this site and need to know the rules when it comes to such sheaths with loops that hold the knife in place in the sheath? Can it then be made spacious so that the blade is left with a good deal of space around it down in the sheath or should it be made more narrow so that there is some friction between the blade and the sheath?

As long as the retention strap is snug it should be alright. The knife might wiggle back and forth a little in the sheath, but again, if the retention strap is snug the knife shouldn't come out, until you unsnap the strap.

A sheath, particularly a leather sheath with a retention strap, doesn't need to be form-fitting in order to work.
