Should I get a sheath that completely covers a Rat. I’ve heard that this is best. That way no one will know that you are caring a Rat. I mean if I really do buy one, it’s embarrassing enough without anyone actually seeing that I’ve bought one.

It would be best to get a sheath with a IWB loop.
 
I would suggest card board and duct tape. That way when you break the knife, you won't lose a good sheath as well.

If you lost the whole set-up, you would at least mourn the missing cardboard sheath, right?
