Sheath Rivet Question

Dan - I only have 3 of your knives so far, with more to come. :):) The designs are very well thought out! They are great knives, and scary sharp. So sharp, that on my monster Nessie, and my regular Nessmuk, the piece of leather that retains the knife in the quick draw sheath cuts through. I was going to saturate that piece of leather with epoxy, to put it back together, and also add some cut resistance to it. Then I noticed on my other sheath, there is a rivet, or bolt holding that area together. What do you recommend for that area? What diameter brass bolt should I get? Any help from other Kosterites would be welcome!
Thanks, :):)
Dave.

Drill the appropriate sized hole

Then put it together by peening the shaft over the washer on the back side.

If that doesn't make sense...let me know...hard to describe.

If you'd like it fixed professionally, send it back to me and I'll have it fixed for FREE. Just cover return shipping ($5).

Hope that helps!

Thanks, Dan -
I just may have you do them right. No sense me ruining them.
Dave.

Sure thing, Bro...just slip a note in with it to explain...including a return address.

My preference is for my customers to be 100% satisfied...and I try the best I can. Sometimes it's a lot harder than others. This one will be an easy fix...no worries.

Thanks!

Decided to box them up for you. Will send them next week. A note and a $20 for your time and talent. I appreciate it.
Thanks,
Dave.

Glad we could work things out, David. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.

Could you post pictures of the fix. Just in case I have to fix mine in the future.

Thanks Mike

Yes.

The first few runs of the quickdraw sheaths were not riveted...and while I did not have any problems with them...I figured it wouldn't hurt to put a rivet in there just in case.

From that point forward, the sheaths have all had a copper rivet put there to keep everything tight-n-tidy.

Dan - Mine went in the mail today. You should get them this week. Be sure to open the envelope inside. I just thought, I could have paypaled you. I just was't thinking.

Thanks,
Dave.

The sheaths are finished and will go out in today's mail.

Thanks!
