Hey, Hogs

I have no leather-working experience myself, and probably not a hidden talent for it either. :) I have, however, had an idea for a pocket sheath for my MBC, so I was hoping ya'll might be able to point me in the right direction.

I've been carrying my MBC in a kydex sheath in my pocket off and on, but it just tends to move around too much. What I would like would be a slim leather sheath with a pocket clip to slide in my front pocket just like you would a folder. My Bark River Little Creek comes with a nice slim leather sheath (I can post a pic if you want), something similar to that with the belt loop replaced with a pocket clip would work. While I could always just throw the MBC in that sheath, I would prefer something made to fit the MBC.

Has anyone seen a similar style sheath being sold anywhere? Any recommendations on a sheath-maker who could design one?

Thanks in advance. :)

I think Dwayne (user name "leatherman") has made sheaths with clips on - check with him.

I have been thinking about ordering a sheath with a belt clip on it, so maybe we are looking for something similar (except for possibly the size of the clip).

Be sure to post pics once you get something. I would like to see what you come up with.

Will do, Garth. I'll probably in touch in the near future. Thinking of sending in a few of my MBCs for a spa treat and a change of scales, would love to switch out the black paper for some black g-10.

You may find something you like within the leather sheaths sold by KnivesShipFree.com. They have a small leather sheath called the "Adirondak". This sheath does not have a clip, but it is arranged with two side by side pockets, one for a knife another for something like a cylinder - for example a CR123 or smaller single flashlight, one of those waterproof containers for medication or a cash-stash or other things of that size or nature. The sheath is sufficiently wide that it works like a pocket pistol holdster. It doesn't move around and allows you to draw without pulling the holster out. I use one for my Izula 2 when I decide to pocket carry. It would work for knives somewhat larger than the Izula as well.

If anyone is interested in what I came up with, check out knifeleather's recent thread. He has some excellent photos on my MBC sheath posted. Highly recommended!
