Hello all, this is my first time posting here but I have been a knife lover/collector my whole life. Recently I have had a problem which I wanted to share my solution to possibly help you as well as supporting a small business.
So I have found myself down the rabbit hole of the EDC fixed blade world and am loving it! Carrying a small fixed blade is a complete game changer! But that is not what this post is about. The problem I ran into was sheathes. Now we could debate the best way to EDC a small fixed blade forever but really it comes down to personal preference and I like to carry in a front pocket rather than on a belt. Most small fixed blades come with a sheath usually some form of kydex/plastic which you can attach an ulticlip to and call it a day. Personally I tried that and it was ok for some of my knives but not all depending on the location of the attachment holes, and then what if your knife only comes with a leather belt sheath? So I went on a quest for a universal leather front pocket sheath.
So I started to research and found a bunch of big name makers with nice options but hefty price tags. Then I tried a few Amazon options which all turned out to be junk. Then I found JDSLeatherCo on Etsy. JD was amazing and made me a custom sheath that can hold several different knives in a premium sheath that cost half as much as some of the big name leather workers out there. He was extremely responsive and helpful, I received my order ahead of time and the quality of the work was amazing. So if you are in need of leatherwork I suggest you take a look at his store or send him a message for a custom order.
Sorry I couldn’t forgive out how to post a picture if I do I will add one in the meantime just do a Quick Look at JDs store look for my review and you can see a picture of the sheath I got. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
