Sheath Stain Problem

Howdy,

I have this very nice sheath that got stained somehow. Don’t really know how it happened. Is it possible to do something to make the sheath look nice again?

I would try a little oil right there in the light colored spot to darken it, followed by an oiling of the whole sheath to even things out. That would be my guess at it, that or either dye it completely black.

If its water that caused the spots lots of time (not always) a quick dunk (in and out) then allowing the item to dry will fix it. Around here we call that life though and don't see it as much of a problem, more of a badge of honor. While back we had a thread here on Sheaths and Such on new and now not so much items. It was pretty cool. Kinda like this:

Probably Guitarist7.62's advice on dyeing it black would be your best bet to fix it completely. I have tried doing just the spots and personally had very little success with it. Always seems to leave rings around where the spot was.

You’re probably right about just leaving it like that and don’t worry about. It’s for a user so its bound to get other marks. Thanks for the advice. It’s for a nice Bob Dozier Knife. If you notice on the top of the sheath there’s a small metal protrusion. There a mechanism that locks the knife in the sheath. You push on it to release it. This is the only one I’ve seen like that. Thanks for the advice. Nice horse.
