Sheath Stain

Anyone have a suggestion to removes a quarter-sized stain on an otherwise mint blade? I tried buffing with both rottenstone and Pumice on a polishing wheel, but neither made even a tiny change. It is a HUGE bowie blade, and I cannot soak it in anything. Help, Please? THANKS!

Rottenstone and pumice are both too soft to cut the blade material so I have to assume that the stain has etched into the blade surface. In that case a gentle buffing with white buffing compound is in order. The white compounds generally have less cutting ability than the others and are designed for high mirror buffing in most cases so should be exactly what you need in this case.

I tried metal polish first, with no results.

I will try the White polishing stick on my wheel and let you know.
