I asked this question in the Survival Sheath Systems forum (Not much traffic there I guess), Heavy was kind enough to reply with some second hand info, but I would really appreciate some first hand input on this issue as Heavy was the only one to offer info......
Will a 2007 FSH SE (8 1/4" L x .317 W) fit in the larger Survival Systems Sheath? As Heavy suggested I know there has been some mods done for the CGASH1 but has anyone done the same for the FSH?
Also I am not dead set on tactical nylon w/kyd. insert. I would like some input as to what pants people have used for this knife. I emailed Mikeymoto but haven't recieved a reply yet, I'm sure he's busy. Any other first hand suggestions would be much appreciated.

For Tactical Nylon Sheathes Busse recommends Semper Paratus Tactical. He will make a sheath that fits correctly.Nylon with a kydex insert model specific to your blade http://www.semperparatustactical.com/home/ Personally I'd prefer leather, but this is a place to start for a tactical type pants,,,,,good luck

Thank you, yes I have seen his sheaths. I'm sure they fit but I dont care much for the design.

Hi Robert, got your e-mail and replied. Thanks.

Sometime I'll post pics of the workshop conversion in the sheaths and such forum, I'm almost done and have a sweet space to work in now. Still need to find a better way to heat it than a small space heater because all my glue is setting up in the cold! I'm working through a monster-sized set of orders trying to catch up.

Leatherman, will it ever happen?

Okuden or Steelnut for my kydex and Chuddybear for my leather. All of which frequent the forum, and all are top notch. Okuden is amazing, but pricier and you will need to send your knife in, Steelnut and Chuck from ChuddyBear are both incredibly easy going guys, either one would be willing to work with you to get you what you want... you can't go wrong with either. One of these days I will have to see for myself what the fuss is all about with Leatherman's work, he has some great looking leather indeed.

As you probably already know, if you are taking the knife out to the wild for heavy use I'd say the Kydex / nylon combo will work better because it will handle wet and dirty conditions better. But if conditons are not so rough then leather looks and feels way better IMO.

For leather I would try Rainwalker as well as all the other guys mentioned so far. I have sheaths from all 3 main leather makers and they are all fantastic.
