ok well anyone interested in teaching through like yahoo or msn messenger on how to get started and tools etc.

The Art Of Making Leather Cases by Al Stohlman

Here is what I strongly suggest. Get this book, it does a better job explaining and showing the basics as any on-line teaching method could.

I made my first sheath following instructions in this book, and I still refer to it often. I believe it's a "must have" for anyone into making leather projects.

He illustrates several sheath styles:thumbup:

That book should be in every leather worker's library, the other two are good, but that one has a very good amount of info. Stohlman has a library of books on everything from how to sew leather to how to carve it.

Another good one is "Knifemaking: A Complete Guide to Crafting Knives, Handles, & Sheaths" by Bo Bergman

One of the best semi modern books with good sheathmaking tips is "How to Make Knives" by Richard W. Barney and Robert W. Loveless.
