thought I'd share, since I've had this pocket knife a little longer then most that pass thought I've taken the chance to play with making a more pocket friendly sheath ideas, it's made out of 5-7ox leather, is very rough and lots of mistakes but it's just a proto :)

not much more pocket space then a modern production folder.

thoughts welcome,

thanks for looking

I like it! As I said on the other forum, do you think a firesteel would fit under the loops?

yeah, sorry I'm double posting a lot, it would without the clip and it could if I made it that way next time :)

Thoughts?OK..
I'm thinking the strips of leather will be prone to catching on what ever it's attached to when removing or attaching it,i.e. a pocket edge or webbing.
Like B.J. asked,a solid piece of leather over the clip might be better.

And I Love the Ebony & Oak,that's the prettiest handle you've done on one of the pocket knives yet!

+1 on the extra layer of leather to cover the base of the clip. You could still rivet through it to hold it in place, and cut a slot so the bumpout at the bottom of the clip can stick through.

I like it either way though!

Not to worry, I think it looks ebony like as well. Zircote can have stripes but noot always. both woods often have red/brown/purple grain.

The rear of this knife was made from a zircote that had a deep black strip on top and a lighter brown strip on bottom with some middling color but with grain throughout, you can kind of see it in these pictures

the two Hikers in this picture are in ebony and zircote, they kind of do the same thing in wood grain :)
