This knife is crude but it's a part of Finnish history as it's from Finnish Winter War.
It was made by a Finnish soldier on the front line in the North-Eastern part of Finland.
The sheath was made from a downed Russian war plane's body.
The leather lining and belt loop are from the leather of the seat.
The crude carvings were done with knife.
Handle is birch and the blade was made of a part of the plane also.
The reindeer shows he was way North, either in Lapland or very near.
The 4 & 0 is the year it was done. The lion holds a raised sword in its right
gauntleted fore leg and he is trampling a curved Russian Sabre.
This is Finland's national coat of arms.
Here is an interesting link to the Finnish history leading to the Winter War.
