howdy, knifestuds!
hey, can i please get some input from y'all about the best rust-preventative for my bk&t's? i use, "Sheath", by birchwood casey on my guns with real good luck, but i'm not sure what finish is on ethan b.'s goodies.

If it works on guns it should work on knives. Pretty much any good light oil like rem oil, militec etc. will do the job. There are also some products made specifically for knives, tuff cloth, and tuff glide etc.
I don't know exactly what coating is on the beckers, probably a powder or epoxy coating of some sort. It should protect the blades very well except for the cutting edge (they are carbon steel right, not stainless?) It will wear away over time, and then wiping them down will become more important.
There are actually hundreds of threads on different coatings and lubricants in the general forum, if you want to do a search. I beleive there is also a camillus forum if you go to the top of the page and click on makers/mfgs , where you could get info more specific to the becker knives.

flitz makes a rifle and gun wax that works great on metal wood etc, carnuba car wax works great also. oil is for moving parts. i have found wax to work much better and it doesn't collect dirt like a oil will.
